Ways to Get Refunds Quickly

Taxpayers have several non-loan options for receiving their refunds quickly:

  • Ways to get refunds quicklyE-filing and Direct Deposit
    E-filing and having the refund direct deposited into a bank account is the quickest way to receive a refund. This option is provided at no additional cost, allows taxpayers to keep more of their refund and provides access to the money in 8 to 15 days.
  • Emerald Card
    Clients also can directly deposit their refund to an H&R Block Bank account and receive funds on an H&R Block Emerald Card. The low-cost card account is opened for free.
  • Refund Anticipation Check
    Clients without bank accounts can have a temporary
    bank account opened to receive a direct deposit of their refund, typically within 8-15 days. The client receives the refund amount, minus tax preparation fees and a bank fee, as a bank check via direct deposit or on the H&R Block Emerald Card.
